Magpie Art Collective members Scott Hart, Shane Petzer, Sean Daniel and Richard Panaino

.... described as a " socially conscious art collective”  (Elle blog 2008)

Magpie was established as a Studio in 1998 by Cape Craft Icon Scott B. Hart and Social Entrepreneur Shane A. Petzer (Ashoka Fellow).   In 2003 Magpie relocated from Cape Town to Barrydale. In 2006 Fine Artist Sean Daniel and  Administrator Richard Panaino joined to expand the Studio into the MagpieArtCollective.

We believe the work we do links art, design and craft with meaningful  commercial and social entrepreneurism, integrated with environmental concern.  Our whimsical, charming and bespoke creations are produced from a broad range of medium and often incorporate repurposed,  found, memorable or recycled elements.

We undertake commissions and participate in a variety of exhibitions and events.
